Robotics is an as industries are increasingly relying on robots and autonomous systems to improve their speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Along with the prospects of a high salary, this career provides you with the opportunity to learn cutting-edge technology and achieve tremendous growth.
What's this career about?
The science of building robots is called robotics. It is a multidisciplinary discipline where technology, engineering, and computer science all come together.
Robotics professionals create machines that work according to pre-programmed instructions. In robotics, you could be either a robotics engineer or a scientist. While the former includes more of design, development and execution, the latter involves more of research.
Robotics engineers conceive, design, build and maintain robots and robotic devices. Their work involves drafting, testing, and applying high-level programming skills to develop innovative automated solutions. The field of robotics presents various job opportunities, some of which are mentioned below.
One of the key areas of focus in automation robotics engineering is industrial automation. This involves the use of robots in a variety of industries, including automotive, electronics, and food and beverage production. The use of robots and automated systems in these industries has led to increased efficiency, reduced costs, and improved product quality.
Automotive manufacturers use robots in manufacturing vehicles and their parts. These are one of the largest employers of robotics engineers. Robotics engineers also work for defence contractors who build military weapons that require remote or automated operations. Military drones and missile systems commonly use robotic technology. Aerospace firms employ robotics engineers to design and manufacture spacecraft, satellites, and missiles. Robots also help assemble aircraft and perform maintenance on them.
