For all her success on screen—from voicing Princess Anna in Disney’s Frozen to turns as Veronica Mars and the title role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall—it’s the woman in her mirror who Kristen Bell, 44, finds truly awesome. “It’s okay to love ourselves as women, mothers and human beings,” she says. Here, Kristen shares how she stays confident, upbeat and fulfilled

"Celebrate your

Smart, thoughtful and warm, actress Kristen Bell has discovered the key to happiness is simply embracing who she is. “I’ve come to realize that I don’t have to be perfect. I just have to be better than I was yesterday,” she tells Woman’s World. It’s a message she emphasizes to her daughters, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9, whom she shares with her husband, Dax Shepard.

And though she’s been acting since she was 13, becoming a mom has been her greatest role. “When I look at my stretch marks or weight gain from having kids, I view it as a superpower,” she smiles. “When my girls call my saggy, small boobs ‘sloppy joes’ I say, ‘These sloppy joes fed you for the first years of your life!’” Here Kristen shares her tips for harnessing your superpowers.

“The universal love story is what appealed to me most,” Kristen says of her new Netflix comedy series Nobody Wants This, premiering on September 26. Kristen plays Joanne, an outspoken agnostic woman who becomes involved with Noah, an unconventional rabbi played by Adam Brody. “I like the idea of exploring similarities and differences and watching humans work through them,” she says. “I am of the personal belief that there are a lot more similarities between us than differences.”

The Mary Tyler Moore SHOW

From That Girl in the 1960s to Ally McBeal in the 1990s to Sex and the City in the 2000s, television has long reflected the shifting image of independent women. Yet the true game-changer came in 1970, when The Mary Tyler Moore Show introduced Mary Richards—30, single, stylish and making her way in a newsroom full of men. Rather than being someone’s wife or daughter, she was the star, and she changed television forever. Join us for a look back at rare behind-the-scenes photos of the groundbreaking show as we celebrate its 55th anniversary.

Happy money, happy holidays

The holidays are here (yay!), and with them comes both joy and, let's be honest, stress. For many of us, the shopping lists, entertaining costs or the ache of an empty chair at the table can dim the sparkle of the season. If that's you, please accept my wishes that the days land lightly.
