Colour bursts

Bulbs are tiny eye-catchers that erupt into colour as soon as the days lengthen and the temperatures rise. These spring crackers reassuringly pop up year after year, and many spread willingly to form lush carpets. Scatter them between perennials and around shrubs, thread through a lawn for a meadow feel, or cram into pots for snazzy displays. Plant now while 'in the green' (with leaves), or in autumn as dry bulbs.
