LET COUNSELLOR KEREN LIGHTEN YOUR LOAD

Here to help

My complaints were ignored

I know I probably sound like a grumpy old woman, but I recently had my carpets cleaned and they did a poor job. I knew it when they finished but was told it would look different when they were dry. It didn't and I complained. It cost a lot of money and I wanted them to look clean. The woman on the end of the phone treated me like I was an idiot. I am 84 so I know I sound old. I was furious and probably was a bit rude. She put the phone down on me and the manager called to tell me off! She didn't listen to anything I said. Surely it is still all right to want a good job done?
Claire, Dunstable, Beds

You don't sound grumpy to me! You sound reasonable. However, being rude to someone is not all right, and you owe the person an apology. Once you have done that, you can discuss the work with the manager, asking them either to come back to redo the carpet or to refund you. If you decide to take your business elsewhere, try and get some recommendations so you know you have chosen a good company.

She just won't leave him
