While chest pain is a classic symptom, many women experience what's known as a “silent heart attack,” where signs are subtle, atypical, or easily mistaken for less serious conditions. These heart attacks can go unnoticed not only by the person experiencing them but sometimes even by medical professionals. Silent heart attacks often go undetected in women due to symptoms like fatigue or discomfort. A 2024 Nature Reviews paper stresses proactive screening to prevent long-term cardiac damage.
