SAMPURNA'S MISSION

Many offerings from temples, such as flowers, garlands, idols, and decorative materials, are often discarded into rivers as part of religious practices. While done with devotion, these materials—especially those containing plastics, synthetic fabrics, paints, and chemical dyes—do not decompose easily. Over time, they choke water bodies, release toxins, harm aquatic life, and disturb the natural ecosystem. What begins as a spiritual act unintentionally turns into a source of water pollution, calling for more eco-friendly and respectful disposal methods?

Driven by the commitment to environmental protection & woman empowerment, Dr. Shobha Vijendra Gupta, Founder of Sampurna NGO, is tirelessly working to transform clothes once offered to the deity into beautiful recycled creations. These include decorative items, potlis, bags, boxes, earrings, and more.
