Aussies love their pets, and nowadays they're considered an important part of the family. So, when the time comes to go on holiday, an increasing number of us are bringing them along.

"There is a rise in pet-inclusive travel across Australia," says Chelsea Seddon, Head Trainer at Petbarn.

"Pets are part of the family, and people are increasingly prioritising bringing them along on holidays rather than leaving them at home."

As fun as that can be, it's important to observe these few rules before you take your four-legged bud on the road.

MICROCHIP, MICROCHIP

"First and foremost, make sure your pet's microchip details and ID tags are up to date," Chelsea says. "This is one of the simplest but most effective ways to ensure you're reunited quickly if your pet becomes lost."

To make sure your pet is found as quickly as possible, make sure their ID tag has a phone number that can be used to contact you immediately.
