Around many parts of the country, especially the cooler zones, waves of colour are washing through the landscape as deciduous autumn trees have their last hurrah before dropping their leaves for winter. Gorgeous buttery yellows, golden orange, flame reds and luxuriant mahogany hues abound.

If there's not much of a show around your way, it's worth a day trip to more elevated regions to enjoy this seasonal beauty.
