As my granddaughter to the roundabout at the park, I found myself following and giggling along with her. 'Race you there, I shouted.

'You can't beat me Yia Yia, Eleni, four, laughed as she ran ahead.

I'm Greek Cypriot and love that Eleni has opted to call me Yia Yia instead of Nan or Grandma - it has a more youthful feel to it and that's exactly how I feel whenever I'm with Eleni.
