The trend of ‘choremancing’ is nothing new to me – I’ve been going on chore dates since I was a poor student and, even though I’m in a better financial position these days, I still think they’re a great idea. In fact, my husband Jack and I have been going on them since we met in August 2016.

We go on traditional dates, like dinner and the cinema, but we mix them with chore dates. For our second date, Jack asked if I’d take his dog for a walk with him rather than go for a fancy dinner. His dog needed walking and it meant he could see me, too – win-win. We’ve enjoyed various other chore dates, such as getting the food shop done and going to the gym.
