Minor cosmetic procedures are on the up. And women are not the only ones getting their nip or tuck

The rise of tweakments FOR MEN

Twenty-five years since it first hit our screens, Full Monty fever is back, with an eight-part Disney+ TV sequel due to bring the cast back together.

When the unlikely group stripped off in front of hundreds of screaming women back in 1997, the cast couldn’t deny feeling the pressure of baring all for the first time. But now they’re swapping out toned abs and chiselled jawlines to embrace their natural bodies on the screen instead, in all shapes and sizes.

The popularity of the ‘dad bod’ has been well-documented in recent years, particularly the following lockdown. With celebs from Will Smith to Paddy McGuinness showing off their untoned beer bellies online, it appears that many of us are feeling more at home in our bodies, whatever shape or size.

But at the same time, the number of men choosing to have cosmetic ‘tweakments’, from Botox and fillers to facial peels, is on the rise. In fact, some of London’s Harley Street clinics have reported a 50% rise in men looking for aesthetic treatments.

The shift shows a big change in attitude among men towards procedures they may have never previously considered. But where has the shift come from, and why are more men than ever wanting to tweak their appearance?

Wise ways to gift money

Not sure what to buy someone? Rather than risking a present that gathers dust in a cupboard, consider giving money. It's a popular option, with new research from Scottish Friendly showing a third of grandparents spent up to £50 per child at Christmas, and another third up to £100. So what are your options for giving money to friends or family for birthdays and beyond?
