Can Kate FORGIVE MEGHAN?

She could be the key to healing the rift between Meghan and the royals – but can it only be mended if Harry returns to the UK alone

A message of forgiveness and love was at the heart of the Princess of Wales' successful royal carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

Kate talked about the 'importance of giving and receiving empathy' and 'how much we need each other in spite of our differences' while urging us to live with an 'open heart'.

Yet the irony was not lost on palace courtiers, given that there's anything but when it comes to the Duchess of Sussex.

Many senior royals are still bewildered and deeply hurt by Prince Harry's trashing of the family's reputation via TV interviews, his autobiography and various court cases.

But most hold the view that it wouldn't have happened without Meghan.

Prince William, in particular, was furious with the barbs hurled at his wife - by both Harry and Meghan.

In one instance on the Netflix documentary, Harry said that some members of the Royal Family may marry someone that fits a mould, rather than someone they are destined to be with, with some fans commenting that he was referring to his sister-in-law Kate.

But perhaps most damaging of all were the accusations of racism by Meghan.

I understand the brothers have not spoken since the late Queen's funeral and William did not tell Harry, before Kate announced it to the world, that his wife had cancer.

Harry and Meghan's camp let it be known that the Sussexes sent a private get well message to Kate but it was 'unreciprocated'.
