The RNZ broadcaster and rocker makes the most of Wellington's waves and public library

WAKE UP... Get up at 3.35am, hopefully before the alarm goes off so I don't wake my wife Lotta. Join the dog on the couch for Vegemite toast and instant coffee to watch the 4am global news bulletins. At 4.45am, I get to RNZ's Wellington studios, straight into prepping for Morning Report, which starts at 6am. It's a massive three-hour live news show and if it's my day to interview the Prime Minister or Leader of the Opposition, I'll need to use every spare minute I have to cram and be ready!

Usually I'll have a quick chat with my co-host Ingrid [Hipkiss], who's in the Auckland studio, to make sure everything is sorted. Luckily, there's a great team of producers helping get the show out each day.
