What we love right now

1 Golden trio

I love essential oils, and I recently discovered Ylang Leanne's online shop. Leanne Schmidt, who's been making essential oil products for 16 years, was introduced to their healing properties by her mother and grandmother. Before Christmas, she puts together a selection of products called the Star of Bethlehem (inspired by the biblical gifts from the three wise men) to help you relax, heal and smell amazing. The set makes for a beautiful gift it contains an oil dosed with vitamin E to moisturise, a serum with golden jojoba, and a face spray containing vitamin B5 and frankincense water for added hydration. December and Christmas orders close in the first week of the month; R680 (plus delivery fee) also gets you a cotton bag. wellnessawake.com - Liza

If you've ever strolled around Vredehoek (the bit of Cape Town around the, er, Tampon Towers) you may have stumbled across a mosaic embedded in a sidewalk, a lamp post or a set of steps. This is the work of Al Fresco Gallery, nicknamed 'Manksy' (Mosaic Banksy) by the locals a series of little treasures hidden in plain sight. There's one of a tortoise, a porcupine, a flamingo, Van Gogh's sunflowers, the Mona Lisa, even the Beatles crossing Abbey Road. My favourite is this one, depicting The Girl with the Pearl Earring. See them all on Instagram at @al_fresco_gallery_cpt or put on your trainers and follow the mosaic map to see them in real life. - Nina
