Mongolia's Nomadic lifestyle and beyond...

In Mongolian “batu” means firm and loyal. His Deel got worn out a bit with time, Its olive green colour was almost gone, and the golden brocade work did not shine anymore but its long, broad sleeves still guarded the flame from strong wind when Batu lit up his cigarette.

Batu’s grandkids were playing around with their enormous Mongolian mastiff. Elder ones were training a yearling inside the fenced area where they keep their horses and Batu, with his binoculars, was keeping an eye on his livestock grazing far away at the slopes of hills. Suddenly his facial expression changed, he got up on a horse and rode towards his flock of sheep and goats and horses. After spending five days in rural Mongolia we knew it was probably a fox or eagle, searching for its prey. The harmonious coexistence with nature still exists in this part of the world.
