A magical compound in Nassau's historic Old Fort community is a relaxed gathering place for a large, London-based family

Point to the name of this Bahamas homeLepiyoki-as evidence of how dear to the heart of a London-based family this project is. Not some fantastic tropical confection, the name instead combines the first two letters of the names of the family's four children. And what a family base camp it is: a traditional Caribbeanstyle home perched on what was one of the last undeveloped beachfront lots in historic Old Fort Bay on New Providence Island. And although the two-story family home was completed at the end of 2023, it gives the illusion of a much older single-story residence, thanks to the property's natural slope, clever architecture, and island-perfect interiors by designer Amanda Lindroth and her Nassau-based team.

The main house-which features five bedrooms as well as sweeping views of the glistening turquoise bay-along with the property's two poolside guest cottages, are designed for easy, lively family gatherings. "The homeowners wanted beautiful but casual," Lindroth says, "a real beach house with room for their four children and friends."
