APPLE TV+ IS CLOSING IN ON FORMULA 1 STREAMING RIGHTS IN MULTI-BILLION DEAL
Techlife News
|October 11, 2025
Apple is reportedly in advanced talks to secure exclusive global streaming rights for Formula 1. If finalized, the deal would mark one of Apple's boldest sports streaming moves yet, positioning Apple TV+ as a serious competitor to sports networks like ESPN, Sky, and Amazon Prime Video.
-

The agreement could be worth over $2 billion per year and would reshape the way motorsport fans watch Formula 1 across the globe.

Apple's interest in Formula 1 represents the company’s next major step into live sports, following high-profile partnerships with Major League Soccer (MLS Season Pass) and Friday Night Baseball with Major League Baseball. But unlike those deals, a Formula 1 package would be global, not regional — giving Apple rights to stream every race, qualifying session, and behind-the-scenes special exclusively through Apple TV+.
The move comes as Apple continues to expand its media ambitions, pivoting Apple TV+ from a boutique streaming platform known for prestige dramas into a broader entertainment service blending scripted content with live sports and interactive media.
“Formula 1 is one of the few global sports properties with year-round engagement and enormous cross-market appeal,” said one media analyst at MoffettNathanson. “For Apple, this is not just about sports — it’s about cementing Apple TV+ as a platform with real cultural gravity.”
