As Dusk Falls is the latest game to model itself after the prestige dramas of HBO and Netflix. Set mostly during one long night in an Arizona motel, it’s about how two very different families find their lives entangled with one another, with all the characters’ major choices made by you, the player.

Its presentation is radically different from most games of this type, with select frames from live-action performances by real actors turned into painted scenes – a bit like the rotoscoping in Richard Linklater’s film
