SENNHEISER AMBEO PLUS

Somehow, Sennheiser has taken its original Ambeo soundbar and made it smaller, more affordable…yet managed to get the word ‘Plus’ in there. It’s a leap of imagination that we don’t really understand.

But that doesn’t matter much – because what’s most important to understand about the Ambeo Plus is that it is, on a rupee-for-rupee basis, the best Dolby Atmos soundbar around. And by ‘best’, we mean across the board. Where build and finish, specs and (most importantly) audio performance are concerned, there isn’t a price-comparable product around that can lay a glove on this Sennheiser.

It may be smaller than its Max sibling, but there are still big numbers attached to the Ambeo Plus: 400W of power generated by nine blocks of Class D amplification powering nine individual speaker drivers, for instance. Two 4in cellulose drivers and two 2in aluminium ones fire upwards to create a sensation of sonic height, while two more of the 2in drivers fire outwards to generate the width. Three more face forwards to deliver in the centre, left and right channels of the 7.1.4 spatial audio layout Sennheiser is shooting for.
