■ It might have a boring name, but the Smart Soundbar 600 is an impressive piece of tech. Two upfiring drivers mean that, rather than your brain being tricked into thinking there’s sound above your head, there actually is. The result is a sense of height to Dolby Atmos soundtracks that ‘virtual surround’ bars like the second-gen Sonos Beam can’t match.

■ You get the minimum of wired inputs, with just an HDMI eARC passthrough and digital optical at the rear. Still, the 600 makes it easy to wirelessly stream audio over Chromecast, Spotify Connect or AirPlay 2, as well as Bluetooth. Alexa is built in but you’ll need a Google speaker on your home network for Google Assistant.
