I have questions by the time I get to the end of a demo of The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow, the game formerly known as Incantamentum from point and click specialist Cloak and Dagger Games.

You are Thomasina Bateman, whose parents probably wanted a boy, and you are writing a book about the burial mounds of England. Invited to the Yorkshire village of Bewlay – home of England’s most remote railway station – by the mysterious Mr Shoulder to excavate the local Hob’s Barrow, you rock up at the local inn and, naturally, begin interrogating the locals.
