Red Hat unveils Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Engine

Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Engine is a new edition of Red Hat OpenShift that offers a dedicated solution for organisations to leverage the virtualisation capabilities already available within Red Hat OpenShift.

This version is focused exclusively on virtualisation workloads, providing a streamlined option for deploying, managing, and scaling virtual machines (VMs). By removing features unrelated to VM management, it enables organisations to fully optimise OpenShift Virtualization to meet their specific infrastructure requirements.

Although containerisation has transformed how virtual machines are used in certain applications, VMs remain a critical component of IT infrastructure. However, with significant changes in the virtualisation market, many organisations face challenges, including uncertainty and rising costs, when managing their virtualisation infrastructure.
