NOVA IS PANIC’S successor to its popular Coda web development app, but unlike that, it’s also a capable text editor, designed to integrate into most development toolchains and workflows.

As a text editor, Nova offers everything you’d expect and more. Its launcher window works with individual files and folder—based projects. Structured text, such as XML, JSON, and code, can be folded to facilitate working with large files, and there’s a “minimap” view of the document. Where appropriate, smart autocompletion accelerates coding without being annoying, and the app may suggest ideas such as adding documentation.
