Dell's new blueprint for Al-ready datacentres

In response to growing demands for scalable, efficient and resilient infrastructure as enterprises increasingly adopt disaggregated IT models, Dell Technologies has announced updates across its server, storage and data protection offerings. The move is aimed at helping organisations modernise their datacentres to support both traditional IT environments and emerging AI workloads.

Modern organisations are refocusing their infrastructure strategies to adapt to hybrid operations, AI adoption and heightened cybersecurity challenges. Disaggregated infrastructure - where compute, storage and networking are abstracted into flexible resource pools - is becoming a preferred approach. Dell's latest advancements are tailored to support this shift, helping enterprises reduce complexity and manage diverse workloads more effectively.

Enhanced server portfolio with PowerEdge

The updated PowerEdge R470, R570, R670 and R770 servers, powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors, are built to handle a variety of workloads including virtualisation, analytics, HPC and AI inferencing.

The PowerEdge R770, for instance, is optimised for workload consolidation and space efficiency, supporting up to 50 per cent more cores per processor and offering a 67 per cent performance increase. According to Dell, this could reduce datacentre footprint by up to 80 per cent per 42U rack and significantly lower energy costs and emissions.

The R570 focuses on energy efficiency, achieving what Dell reckons is record-breaking performance per watt on Intel platforms - an important factor for enterprises looking to manage costs without compromising on processing power.
