Bath turn on power to secure top spot

BATH delivered a statement of intent with 31 unanswered points against their main league rivals as a first Premiership title beckons.

With Saracens folding at Northampton, Leicester and Sale look to be the main threats and they have both been doubled this season. Bath have more than matched them at forward and when Max Ojomoh came off the bench he turned a tight game into a blow-out.

It gave the scoreboard a lop-sided look, reflecting Bath’s burgeoning confidence and self-belief and they will take some beating.

It was a potential preview of the final as the sides are likely to remain the top two with Leicester's final match at home to Newcastle, a side that has only once avoided conceding a try bonus point on the road this season.

Even though they had no chance of overhauling Bath at the top, Leicester picked their strongest available side, the one that had started the week before against Sale, and took the game to the leaders.
