JAKE ASH says Mousehole are relishing being in the thick of a play-off race rather than trying to gatecrash it – but says focusing on their win target is the key for now.

The Cornish side finished fifth last season in their first ever campaign at Step 4 but fell in the Southern League Division One South play-off semi-final to Frome Town.

That came on the back of a strong finish while this season has seen Ash’s side in the mix for the long haul.

And the boss – who has taken overseen the Seagulls’ rise from Step 6 – says progress is name of the game.

“We set a target for the players in pre-season in terms of the amount of games we want to win across the season,” Ash told The NLP
