To their credit Ebbsfleet – with Josh Wright in charge following Harry Watling’s departure – rallied in the second half and scored a late consolation goal through substitute Dominic Poleon.

From the first minute Barnet pushed the visitors on the defensive with Ebbsfleet finding it difficult to get the ball into their opponents’ half.

Barnet dominated possession and it was no surprise when they took the lead in the tenth minute.

An astute delivery from the right by the advancing Danny Collinge was headed beyond Mark Cousins by Kabamba leaving the ex-Bee keeper stranded.
