STEVE Cotterill hailed the character of his Forest Green Rovers side as they fought back to take a share of the spoils with improving Woking.

Harry Beautyman’s 69th-minute opener for the Cards was canceled out very quickly by Jordon Garrick as title-chasing Rovers at least claimed a point.

Woking substitute Tariq Hinds was sent off late on for two yellow cards, but even though his side were left to rue two dropped points, boss Cotterill was pleased with his side’s effort and endeavor.

“Second half we were much better and it warranted us scoring a winning goal,” Cotterill said. “It is a definite penalty on Manny (Osadebe), if we get the penalty you are hoping that goes in.”

A disppointing goalless draw at bottom club Ebbsfleet on Tuesday night left Rovers seven points adrift of leaders Barnet and needing an immediate response.
