Dampness and comic horror go hand in clammy hand. It’s bad enough coming to the slow and devastating realisation that you're a meaningless speck in a vast, indifferent, and unfathomably alien universe. But doing it with damp shoes is so much worse. And while Frogwares’ other Lovecraftian tale, The Sinking City, surpasses Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened in terms of sheer overall moistness, this is a more thoughtfully paced and enjoyable game.
