EMERGING TRENDS IN SURVEILLANCE

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the surveillance landscape, enabling faster and more accurate data analysis. AI-powered systems can detect, and track, objects, identify anomalies and even predict potential threats, making them indispensable for modern surveillance. unusual behaviour, identify potential security breaches and prevent crimes before they occur.

Applications in India

Facial Recognition: AI is being deployed to identify individuals in large crowds, assist in criminal investigations and enhance access control systems. This technology is critical for improving public safety in urban areas and high-security zones.

Object Detection & Tracking: AI algorithms help monitor critical infrastructure, track suspicious vehicles and improve traffic management. These systems are essential for ensuring the safety of vital installations such as airports, power plants and government buildings.

Behavioural Analysis: AI systems analyse patterns of activity to detect unusual behaviour, identify potential security breaches and prevent crimes before they occur.

India's defence forces are leveraging AI to gain a tactical edge on the battlefield. AI-powered tools are being used to analyse aerial imagery, enhance the accuracy of targeting systems and improve situational awareness. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is also deploying AI for satellite imagery analysis, enabling better monitoring of natural disasters, environmental changes and potential security threats.

The Proliferation of Drones and UAVs

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly referred to as drones, are becoming a cornerstone of India's surveillance infrastructure. These versatile platforms offer cost-effective, and flexible, solutions for a range of applications.
