Tamron 17-50mm F4 Di III VXD ₹66,500 - Nifty zoom!

After all, Tamron already had a 17 -28 mm f2.8 and a 28 -75 mm f2.8 for full-frame cameras. We were wrong. Manufacturers these days are looking at innovative focal lengths to entice customers and 17 - 50 mm is certainly the first of its kind. In fact, Tamron call it the world's first ultra-wide angle standard zoom. Detailed below are our test results.

Design & Build Quality

One look at the lens and you know it's a Tamron. Designed in Japan, the lens is a polycarbonate affair.

imageTamron has given the lens a high gloss black coating and improved scratch resistance. Tamron also claim that the focussing ring features an improved rubber grip. The lens is moisture-resistant and has fluorine coating. The lens weighs 460 g and accepts 67 mm filters. A petal-shaped lens hood is supplied with the lens. The lens is built with Sony's E mount.
