The Tamron 90 mm F/2.8 Di III Macro VXD lens (Model F072), compatible with Sony E-mount and Nikon Z-mount full frame cameras was launched worldwide on October 24, 2024.
Tamron 90 mm F/2.8 Di III Macro VXD ₹53,600/-
The first Tamron 90 mm Macro lens was introduced in 1979. With this launch, Tamron celebrates 45 years of their 90 mm Macro lenses. This review is for the 90 mm f/2.8 Nikon Z-mount Macro lens.
Design & Build Quality
As with the earlier Tamron 90 mm macro lenses, this new macro lens uses engineering plastic for lower weight but is well built. The lens mount is made of metal. The lens is weather sealed, and the front element is given a fluorene coating that helps to repel water/oil splashes. The filter size is 67 mm. The lens is designed in Japan but made in China.
Key Features The Tamron 90 mm f/2.8 Di Macro VXD lens is constructed with 15 elements in 12 groups that include four special LD (Low Dispersion) glass elements that minimise the effects of spherical and chromatic aberrations. A VXD (Voicecoil extreme-torque Drive) linear motor ensures the highest level of AF speed and precision. A special BBAR-G2 (BroadBand Anti-Reflection, Generation 2) coating suppresses flare and ghosting, thus ensuring crispy clear photos even under backlit conditions.
