The Union flag is more than fabric - it's who we are

The sight of the Union flag or the St George's Cross should stir something in all of us - pride, loyalty, respect. Yet in today's Britain, the flag has become a dividing line.

What used to be a simple symbol of patriotism has somehow become controversial.

In other nations, their flags are flown high and respected without question.
