LBA investigate after couple take knife through airport security

A Yorkshire couple sparked an investigation after they accidentally passed through airport security with a steak knife.

Michael and Kathryn Roper had passed through Leeds and Bradford Airport (LBA) security when they noticed a knife in her bag.

The couple were enjoying a pint in the departure lounge and looking forward to jetting of to their Spanish holiday home when they found the sharp item which had a six-inch blade.

Kathryn, 72, says she had accidentally left it in the bag after she had used it to cut some cake when visiting her stepdad earlier that day.
