Leeds rail passengers part of England arm of European trial
A new pay-as-you-go rail-ticketing system which tracks passengers locations as they travel is to be trialled in England for the first time.
The location-tracking digital ticketing trial started on East Midlands Railway between Leicester, Derby and Nottingham from Monday of this week. Further tests will take place in Yorkshire from the end of September on Northern Rail services between Harrogate, Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley.
