Sewage problem now resolved

A long-standing sewage problem in the North Lodge area of Motherwell has been resolved.

For a lengthy period of time, surface water was present on the bottom of the carriageway at Manse Road from a drain located near where the street meets North Lodge Avenue and towards an entrance point to the Baron's Haugh nature reserve.

There was also a sewage smell on a section of the adjacent footway.

The matter was brought to the attention of local councillor, Nathan Wilson in March.

He contacted Scottish Water to ask for the organisation to fix the sewage problem.
