Moor town set for film festival

ORGANISERS of the Chagford Film Festival have announced the programme for this year's renewal.

The annual event, first founded in 2011, is delivered by a group of volunteers with a "love of film and all matters related", based in and around the Dartmoor market town.

"They have a desire to spread that enthusiasm and to enable people to come together to enjoy each other's company and to celebrate the power of film," a festival spokesperson said.

"Businesses in Chagford benefit from the increased footfall and with visitors coming to the town, many of whom make a day and/or evening of it, visiting shops and enjoying refreshments."

Taking place from Monday, September 22, to Saturday, September 27, the week kicks off with its opening night gala performance, Bocelli 30: The Celebration, on the Monday.
