Harris the hero as Tavistock pick up their first win of season

DEFENDER Iestyn Harris was Tavistock's hero as he scored the only goal of the game against Falmouth Town to earn the Lambs their first victory of the new season in Southern League Division One South, writes Stuart James.

The 23-year-old fullback struck shortly past the hour mark after a Jack Crago cross was not cleared and Harris was on hand to scramble the ball over the line.

Falmouth laid siege to the Tavi goal after that, but a heroic defensive performance provided the foundation for a clean sheet - and three valuable points against their Cornish visitors.

But while Harris was the match-winner, he paid tribute to his teammates for that heroic defensive display, which sets them up nicely for Saturday's FA Cup trip to Barnstaple Town.
