Cleverley optimistic on a new striker arriving soon

Mitchell’s arrival addresses defensive issue, but now Argyle chase a number nine

TOM Cleverley has stated he is feeling 'a lot more optimistic' about the prospects of Plymouth Argyle bringing in another striker sooner rather than later.

Argyle have brought in 23-year-old centre-back Alex Mitchell on a season-long loan from Championship club Charlton Athletic, and while another defender could still be added to the squad before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1 a lot of the recruitment focus will now be on finally finding someone to wear the number nine shirt, which has been vacant since Ryan Hardie left for Wrexham in June.
