City striker Josh Magennis didn’t pull any punches following the Grecians’ 4-0 defeat to Rotherham United, admitting that they got ‘absolutely battered’ during a lacklustre performance at St James Park.‘The defeat was the Grecians’ heaviest in the league for a year and sawa six game unbeaten run come to a shuddering halt.
‘The loss saw Gary Caldwell’s side slip to 13th in League One, while the Millers moved out of the relegation zone with their victory and are now just six points behind City.
Jamal Baptiste from a set-piece had given them a first half lead, before Joe Rafferty, Harry Gray and Shaun McWilliams in the space of five second half minutes turned it into a rout.
“We just didn’t play our best; Magennis admitted. “We played against a team that’s fighting for their lives at this moment in time, and they were very, very clinical.
