Centenary celebrations at historic village show

A BUMPER crowd ensured the 100th anniversary of the Christow Show was a sizzling success, with thousands sharing in this year's special milestone celebrations in the Devon village.

Commemorating 100 years since the very first show in 1925, the Christow and District Horticultural and Agricultural Society welcomed almost 2,000 visitors to the much loved village event last Saturday.

Reporting “record numbers” in most events, show secretary Jan Deane said: “We could not have wished for better weather. The show ground was a blaze of colour and activity with such a variety of things to see, there really was something for everyone to enjoy.”
