Injury issues sees Hatch in the first team picture

Joe Hatch in action for Argyle against Cheltenham in September

(Dave Rowntree/PPAUK)

started the first five League One games of the campaign before he was sidelined by injury.

Cleverley said: “Xav is doing fantastic. He has really worked his socks off in his rehab. He’s out on the pitch every day. He's running at about 75 per cent of his speed.

“T expect him to be with the team in the next couple of weeks. Now that doesn’t mean on a Saturday. He will need a couple weeks more training, but I would say within four weeks we should see Xav back in a shirt.”

Caleb Watts suffered a similar hamstring injury to Amaechi in the opening minutes of Argyle’s 3-2 away win against Luton Town in mid-September.

Cleverley said about the 23-yearold: “His injury happened later and the thing we got from the specialist is that it would be a couple weeks more than Xav’s full rehab. Caleb will be new year”

Another player yet to appear for Argyle this season is defender Julio Pleguezuelo, who had to have knee surgery in early August after an issue flared up in preseason.
