Final friendly is Cleverley’s Theatre of Greens debut

TOM Cleverley believes Plymouth Argyle’s final pre-season game against Championship club Bris- tol City at Home Park today (3pm) will be a good test of how resilient they can be, writes Chris Errington.

City are playing twice within 24 hours, away at Cheltenham Town last night and then against Argyle, so their new Austrian boss Gerhard Struber is likely to split his squad for those matches, however, regardless of who plays for the Robins in what will be Cleverley’s first game at Home Park as head coach, it is likely to be the Pilgrims’ toughest test of pre-season.

That is exactly what Cleverley wants ahead of the start of the new League One campaign next Saturday when Barnsley will be the visitors to the Theatre of Greens.
