WREXHAM appear poised to shatter their transfer record for the third time in two weeks with a £7.5million deal for Ipswich forward Nathan Broadhead.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday that the Red Dragons are on the brink of sealing an ambitious deal for the Wales international. According to the Ipswich Star, a fee has already been settled between the two clubs for the 27-year-old.

Broadhead, a former member of Wrexham's academy, joined the Tractor Boys from Everton for £1.5m in January 2023.

He was instrumental in Ipswich’s consecutive promotions — from League One and the Championship, but was limited to just seven Premier League starts last season.

Broadhead has netted 23 goals in 83 appearances for his club, but is now in the final year of his contract.

Wrexham, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have been very active in the transfer market as they gear up for life in the second tier.
