THE Welsh Government han-dles a budget of some £26bn, and part of that re-sponsibility is investing in schemes or places that it believes will return a benefit to the people of Wales.

Two of the most high profile of recent years have been Cardiff Airport and Gilestone Farm - two vastly different schemes with vastly different price tags attached.
It emerged yesterday that Gile-stone Farm, the Powys venture the Welsh Government bought for £4.25m, has not only seen its value decline to £3.75m but there are questions about what the future holds, given a pair of ospreys, a protected species, has returned and laid an egg.
