A MAN accused of intentionally strangling his partner sent her a letter from prison begging her to drop the charges against him.
-
After Simon Thomas, 57, was convicted and handed a suspended sentence, he visited her house the very same day and became verbally aggressive.
Cardiff Crown Court heard how on May 16, Deborah Williams received a letter from Thomas detailing the name of his solicitor’s firm. In the letter Thomas tells her to ring them and drop the charges. He added: “The other way is don’t turn up to court for my hearing on 20th May.”
Hannah Head, prosecuting, told the court how on June 13, Thomas was handed a nine-month sentence, suspended for 18 months, for the intentional strangulation of his former partner and released from custody.
