ANDREW Scott has been appointed main contractor to transform Porthcawl's iconic Grand Pavilion venue.
The £20m revamp of the listed 1930s Art Deco building is being funded by the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF), Bridgend County Borough Council and Welsh Government Transforming Towns Wales funding.
Works will include the conservation and repair of some of the building’s key features including its clock tower and stained-glass windows.
The plans also include restoration of the building’s original domed roof, with new insulation, and the original marine-styled weather vane being reinstated.
