Call for action at 'hot spots' to prevent flooding

A VILLAGE pub that had been closed for months had to push back its long-awaited reopening because of floods.

The Little Jockey pub in Little Mill, Monmouthshire, was due to reopen on December 1 after being closed for more than a year, but its new landlords were forced to push the date back because of flooding caused by heavy rainfall during Storm Claudia in November.
The pub's reopening night celebration was eventually able to go ahead on Saturday, December 6.
However, a local councillor has called for action on a “longstanding” issue he said contributed to the flooding.
