Barry-Murphy thrilled as the Bluebirds bounce back in style at Burnley

RIAN Barry-Murphy says he was delighted by the character shown by his Cardiff City side as they bounced back from their first defeat of the season to claim a sensational win over Premier League side Burnley in the Carabao Cup.
The Bluebirds arrived at Turf Moor on Tuesday night having slipped to a 3-1 reverse at the hands of League One rivals Bradford City at the weekend, but displayed plenty of spirit and grit to claim a 2-1 victory on the night.
The win puts City into the fourth round of the League Cup for the first time since 2012.
That year, they went all the way to Wembley, and although the Irishman may not have a date under the famous arch on his mind just yet, he was suitably impressed by his side's display.
“It means a lot to us to play the way we did,” he said.
“And to bounce back from what was undoubtedly a very disappointing day for us on Saturday.
“I think it means a lot in terms of how we want to play. When you play a team in the Premier League you have two choices: you either step back and hope for the best or try and take destiny into your own hands.
