A price too high for the Welsh electorate?

EXPANDING the Senedd from 60 to 96 politicians, as will happen next May, is one of those Welsh political issues which has cut through.

People know it is happening, and many do not like it.

It is already clear it will be a key issue for parties campaigning in the Senedd elections.

While Labour and Plaid Cymru have backed it, the Conservatives and Reform UK oppose it.

Supporters say it is needed to improve the institution and make it fit for the increasing demands placed on it as we approach 30 years of devolution - to ensure better representation and scrutiny of important policies and their financing.
